Make plans to attend our EQUIP training event March 11 in Oklahoma City or March 25 in Tulsa. These two events will prepare your pastor and church leaders to launch EQUIP in your church. We encourage the senior pastor, the finance or stewardship chair and other key leaders within the church who desire to help their members become debt-free to attend. Begin forming your church’s EQUIP leadership team now as the training dates near.

EQUIP, the Oklahoma United Methodist Foundation’s newest emphasis, is a process that will teach the members of your church how to handle money the way God intends for us to handle money. EQUIP uses Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University (FPU), and leads each church to a large FPU offering, involving a majority of the congregation. EQUIP has the potential to change the culture and DNA of our churches regarding stewardship and money.

We believe our churches are filled with faithful people who would like to give more in order for the church and its ministries to reach more people for Christ. However, most of America has fallen victim to our culture’s call to spend all we make, if not a little more. FPU helps people take control of their finances, helps them get out of debt, and shows them how to spend wisely, save and give.

The crown jewel of EQUIP will be to apply the same principles to the church budget and do away with financial “emergencies” within the church all together, resulting in true financial peace.

At the one-day EQUIP training, you will learn about demographic information specific to your community, strategies for enrolling the majority of your active members in FPU, and a week-by-week how to for implementing EQUIP. We will also provide you with promotional tools you can use in your church and community.

You will learn how FPU relates to community involvement, have opportunities to address unique characteristics of your church family and work on ways to tailor EQUIP for you. There will also be time to share ideas with other churches considering EQUIP.

Register using the form below or call Kristin Van Nort at the Foundation at 800-259-6863 for additional information or questions.
